How Uncle Joe Works
Every line item on your repair order is checked against four pillars of data. Uncle Joe does not guess. He checks.
Pillar 1 — Parts Pricing
Is the part priced at or under MSRP? Uncle Joe checks what the manufacturer suggests the part should cost. Parts priced significantly above MSRP get flagged in red. Everything within a fair range gets a green check.
Pillar 2 — Labor Time
Every repair has a standard flat-rate time that is widely published in the industry. A brake pad replacement takes roughly 2.1 hours. If a dealer charges you for 3.5 hours, Uncle Joe flags the difference. You see exactly how many extra hours you are being charged for and what that costs you.
Pillar 3 — Maintenance Schedule
Is this service actually due at your mileage? Uncle Joe checks manufacturer recommendations and flags anything being pushed before it is due. A transmission service that is not due until 90,000 miles being recommended at 30,000 miles is a yellow or red flag depending on how far out it is.
Pillar 4 — Warranty Coverage
This is the most important pillar. Uncle Joe checks whether any repair is covered under your existing basic, powertrain, or emissions warranty. Dealers frequently attempt to sell repairs that are already covered. This is the most powerful and viral feature in the product because discovering a warranty violation feels like catching someone with their hand in your pocket.
